September 21 is celebrating our 25th anniversary! Founded in 1996, our humble company began with a single store and has come a long way since then.

September 21 is South East Asia's leading specialist in early childhood and primary/secondary school teaching resources. Apart from operating from 2 large stores and a fully equipped seminar room dedicated to training, our distribution products include children’s books, toys, manipulatives, robotics products, classroom decor as well as classroom furniture. The latest addition to our collection is an e-learning library suitable for nursery to secondary school students. We carry over 1.35 million titles on our product database, including our original publications. With such an extensive range of resources, clients from the region regularly visit us. This has enabled us to cement ourselves as the only organisation in SE Asia that can be truly called a one-stop centre for parents and educators

In 2009, September 21 started to venture into the publishing business. We began by publishing teaching resources developed by Dr Rod Campbell and Victoria Carlton. Then, we ventured into writing niche books that are not easily available in the marketplace, often featuring unique regional and local aspects in the stories. All our publications are complemented by workshops conducted by the authors themselves. Another unique element of our books is that we often add music and provide access to teaching resources. In 2019, to celebrate our 22nd anniversary, we became Singapore’s 1st augmented reality children’s book publisher when we launched “Prince Nila Discovers a New Kingdom”. It is based on the famous legend of how Sang Nila Utama founded Singapore in 1299. Its publication was just in time to celebrate Singapore’s Bicentennial.

We rode on the digital wave and started to conduct online sales for our customers. For our Facebook live “Lucky’s Wednesday Sale”, all proceeds from the “Lucky’s Mystery Pack” are donated to our charity partner.

We take education to the next level by hosting workshops conducted by renowned international trainers. We are also proud to represent the Victoria Carlton Programs worldwide where we offer curriculum support. This includes the Jolly Phonics Program. Launched in 2003, September 21 is the first official Jolly Phonics training centre in Singapore. There is no need to travel halfway across the world to meet these experts — we bring them to your doorstep. Ever since the pandemic, we have converted our workshops to be fully digital. It helps parents and teachers maximise children’s learning potential in the comfort of their own home and school. The topics covered include literacy, mathematics, emotional intelligence, chess, and robotics.

In 2020, during the pandemic, we decided to give back to the community by starting a charity initiative, Share a Thought. We invited renowned educators and trainers to share their experiences and strategies online. Participants contributed to our 2 dedicated charities, The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund and ACRES (Wildlife Rescue).

Due to the success of Share a Thought, we launched the World Education Summit in 2021 to continue the learning experience. The courses are complimentary but participants often contributed to charities as part of our Pay It Forward initiative.
